曾經的紅磚建築，歲月的記憶

如今只有怪手和被摧毀的建築

在重慶北路昌吉街口的第一銀行建築被拆了，很訝異，很無法相信，難道不能把老建築維護嗎？雖然不知道這建築的歷史，但是至少在林爸爸60多年的歲月中，它就立於在此。紅磚，拱門，小巷，都是歷史，如今怪手一拆，什麼都沒了。台灣人就真的這麼痛恨老建築，一定要都更到醜不拉磯，然後付不需要付的大筆公共空間的費用嗎？

曾經看過一篇報導大潤發來台工作的法國經理對台灣的感受，印象最深的一段：我不知道為什麼台灣人都不愛老建築？都一直想要拆蓋新的？為什麼不願意去維護？

當我們千里迢迢去歐美看古都古城，去”哇”的時候，為什麼不想想在我們自己的家鄉，自己的城市，好好的維護？下次換別人千里迢迢來這裡”哇”呢？心痛啊

So shame to admit a lot of taiwanese don't care about historical buildings, but just want to tear them down and build new high tall buildings.

Here used to be a bank, not sure how long the history, but at least, for the entire of my dad's life, 60 years. And now, it is gone. I love these historical buildings because they show the time trace, but guess the preservation costs a lot, so tear them down is much easier than keep them stay.

When we go far away to the other side of the world to feel "wow" for the history and historical cities, why we can't do the same thing and make others come to "wow"?
