斯里蘭卡香料產地之旅工作模式第三天
這天來到黑／白芝麻的產區和農友互動。PODIE和此產區農友合作了十年；十年前來到這裡時，農友們只有一間小木屋，但是因為距離和方圓十里內沒有住宿的地方，所以他們把自己的房子讓出來給PODIE的Tyrell & Kasun過夜，而自己和懷第一胎的老婆則是到別人家借睡；十年後，他們可以自己蓋了一間新房，同時也在蓋新房時，特意留了一間房，只為了當Tyrell or Kasun來拜訪時，有個可以過夜的地方。（人懂的感恩，上天必有回應啊）

其實芝麻是播種下去後，靠天靠地就可就地野生成長的產品，但是因為不會銷售，沒有管道，所以農友們變成了只會種，不會賣，依然困苦的生活，直到與PODIE合作，以公平合理的價格採購，生活才開始有了改善。在這趟旅程中，感受到的是，即使只是用公平合理的價格採購，就可以改善一個村落農民的生活，因為他們不用再被中間商給剝削。

因為農田在未開發的產業道路內，所以坐上了農友的卡車，一路巔陂的到達二公里外的田地，烈陽下，農友們在忙著收成，滿天的蒼蠅因為芝麻的香氣而飛來，每個人是汗流夾背的在觀察及學習。看著農友們棒打芝麻穗，深深覺得，我們很幸福，不用辛苦，就可以吃到好吃的東西。其實在農友家裡時，他們也很好奇我們用芝麻做什麼料理，因為他們知道的也有限。下次，我們一定會記得，帶台灣的芝麻成品去和農友們分享！！

Came to black / white sesame farmer group today. PODIE has been working with this farmer group for a decade. At the first very time when Tyrell and Kasun came, this farmer only had one small house, but for Tyrell and Kasun, famer gave the house for them to stay, and he took himself and pregant wife to stay at other's overnight. And now, after a decade, because of PODIE's fair price and help to promote, this farmer had ability to build a new house. In return, there is one special guest room for Tyrell and Kasun everytime they came to visit.

Sesame are grown in wild after planting, but without sell channel and promotion, farmers were in poor living situation, till PODIE came into this village with fair price. From this trip we know one thing for sure, just by purchasing with fair price, and not be bullet by middle men, then farmers life can be changed completely.

Since the file is in the middle of no where, and about 2km away from farmer's house, we had to get on his truck and rode on a bumping road for a while. Under the summer sun, everyone was doing the work after harvesting and sweating. Flies are everywhere because the smell of sesame. By observing how sesame are harvested, really think, we are so lucky. We don't have to get sweat to get what good to eat. Next time, we sure to bring some sesame finish products to share with farmers, because they don't know what we do with their sesame.
